A Daily Market

A daily market, a daily thrill!

Out in Memphis I journeyed to an everyday farmer's market and, per usual, fell in love.

Farmer's markets are fantastic from the standpoint of sustainability - low carbon footprint as farmers have less distance to travel, always have what is IN SEASON, supporting local growers, it's great!

Grizzly, awesome looking carrots

The red barn housing goods from the earth

A basket vomiting up fresh green beans

Get at me, tomatoes!

Blueberries just sitting there eerily calling my name

and you, Garcia Lorca, what were you doing down by the watermelons?

Jams, jellies, and preserves galore

Notecards informing buyers to the price of these beauts

Squash tripping over one another in the basket

Intermingling of the produce

Boxes outside in the warm sun

Nothing like peaches to celebrate summer

And some juicy, vibrant tomatoes

One thing I like about the south/midwest? Farmer's markets aren't 'trendy' like in California. They have held up consistently for generations. It's engrained in the communities.
